Many thanks, J, for your words of encouragement [what does J stand for?].
The impression I get is that the the snowball stemmers are used quietly but
effectively by the software community. At a personal level, I'm slightly
disappointed that Snowball has not generated a new interest in making
stemming algorithms for languages other than the ones on the Snowball site,
but there we are.

I may try and do yet another stemmer later this year incidentally. Finnish
perhaps, or Polish.

As you all point out, declaring zero sized arrays 'A[0]' was forbidden way
back by K & R.
